Teaching and Tutoring
Personalized Jewish Learning
I offer individualized tutoring for those who want to explore Jewish learning in a more personal setting. Topics can include Hebrew reading, Judaism 101, Jewish history, the prayerbook and synagogue liturgy, Torah study, and more.
Each course of study is shaped around the individual learner's interests and experience level, creating a flexible and engaging learning journey.
Workshops, Adult Education, and Community Learning
I offer lectures, workshops, and short courses for synagogues, Jewish organizations, and community groups (non-Jewish groups very much welcomed as well!). These programs are designed to spark curiosity, encourage discussion, and open new ways of engaging with Jewish texts and traditions.
Programs may take the form of a single talk, a multi-session class, or more immersive learning experiences depending on the community's interest.
Group Learning
I facilitate group classes for communities, congregations, and small learning cohorts interested in exploring Jewish texts and ideas together. These can be done in-person (Philadelphia area) or over zoom.
Topics may include Hebrew (beginner through advanced), Bible study (Torah and later books of the Jewish Bible), Jewish ethics and musar, Jewish philosophy and philosophers, or guided discussions of important Jewish books. Classes are designed to be engaging, accessible, and welcoming to participants of varied backgrounds and levels of familiarity.
Conversion Study
For those exploring the possibility of becoming Jewish, I guide a course of study that typically unfolds over the course of a year to a year-and-a-half. The process involves sustained learning, personal reflection, reading Jewish texts, committing to a personal religious practice, and meaningful engagement with Jewish life and community.
Conversion study is both intellectually rich and personally transformative, and it requires a genuine commitment of time, curiosity, and heart. Please reach out for more information or to discuss your journey.
